CLEVELAND — Investigators from the Cleveland Division of Fire believe that the blaze that broke out last week at the Byright car dealership was arson and are asking for the public's help in finding those involved.

The fire happened just after midnight on Dec. 9 as crews were called to deal with multiple buildings on fire in the 4800 block of Lorain Avenue, including Byright Auto Sales. Officials say the fire had spread to the two-story office building next door.

"The volume of fire threatened to spread to adjacent structures and vehicles," Cleveland fire officials added in its release.

Over 60 firefighters from 17 units battled the blaze, which caused damage estimated at $500,000.

  • 1957 Chevy
  • 1969 Mustang convertible

"Fire investigators now believe this fire was an act of arson. There is a reward of up to $7,500 being offered for information leading to an arrest," the release noted.

Along with information related to the fire, investigators are asking for information and the current whereabouts of a silver 2013 Chevrolet Suburban LT. The vehicle has a roof rack, sunroof, tinted windows and white decal on the rear windows.
