CLEVELAND — Cleveland Clinic received threats made against two of its facilities on Wednesday evening.
After being placed on a visitor lockdown Wednesday evening due to a threat, Fairview Hospital has been given an all clear by Cleveland Clinic and the Cleveland Division of Police as of 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, a Clinic spokesperson tells 3News that a threat was made against the system's main campus in downtown Cleveland. Police declared the scene to be all clear just after 10:15 p.m. The hospital had stayed open to visitors and EMS were not diverted during that time.
According to a statement from Cleveland Clinic, the initial threat made against Fairview Hospital came at approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Below is the full statement:
“At approximately 7 p.m. this evening, we were made aware of a threat at Fairview Hospital. Cleveland Clinic police immediately responded and are working closely with Cleveland and Cuyahoga Police who are currently at the hospital. At this time, out of an abundance of caution, the hospital is on diversion for EMS and is currently on lock down to visitors. We will continue to provide updates to you as we have them.”
