WESTLAKE, Ohio — A Cleveland man was arrested and charged after vandalizing and threatening the employees at a Taco Bell in Westlake because he was unable to order a Grilled Breakfast Burrito Potato Fiesta.
Westlake Police says that it received a call at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 20, from an employee at the Taco Bell on Columbia Rd. The employee stated that a customer had damaged the restaurant's drive-thru in a rage.
Upon arrival, officers learned that while the suspect was gone, he had threatened to come back and shoot the employees. The man had allegedly driven through the drive-thru and attempted to order a Grilled Breakfast Burrito Potato Fiesta. When told that the restaurant was currently only accepting mobile and DoorDash orders, the suspect became irate, smashing the screen on the drive-thru speaker.
The suspect continued to punch the drive-thru window before threatening the employees and fleeing the scene. Officers were ultimately able to identify the man as a 28-year-old Cleveland resident, who has a history of allegedly brandishing a firearm at a neighbor and felonious assault charges.
The Westlake Police Department coordinated with the U.S. Marshalls Violent Fugitive Task Force to take the suspect into custody the following morning. He was subsequently charged with felony vandalism and menacing and issued a protection order, ordering him to stay away from the Taco Bell and its employees.
