AKRON, Ohio — A Cleveland man was sentenced to 262 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
According to court documents, 33-year-old Darrin Harsley was arrested in September of 2022 by Ashtabula police after he made a series of methamphetamine and fentanyl sales from a confidential source.
Harsley traveled from Cleveland to Ashtabula three separate times to make these sales to the source, with his arrest happening after the third sale.
Officers found cash from the third sales of drugs after searching his far following his arrest.
Harsley was identified as a suspect, previously going by the nickname "D" by the Ashtabula Police Department, through a review of CashApp and phone information according to Ashtabula police.
Harsley had previously been released from prison in 2021 after serving approximately 10 years on two felonious assault convictions involving firearms. Due to those prior convictions, Harsley was qualified as a "career offender" making him subject to a longer time range in sentencing for this offense.
