An Akron man is in police custody Wednesday after an assault at Caine's Floral, located in the 100 block of Second Street NW, in Barberton.
30-year-old Timothy Williams, a convicted felon and Tier III registered sex offender, is now facing charges of kidnapping aggravated robbery, and attempted rape.
According to reports, police arrived at the scene just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, within minutes of being called, and learned that the suspect in question had fled the scene out of the back of the business as officers entered through the front.
The victim was located and medical attention was requested. The victim was later transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
A description of the suspect was taken and broadcast to additional officers who began searching the area. A suspect matching the description was seen entering another local business on Wooster Road North. Inside, officers located Williams and he was taken into custody without incident.
Williams was taken to the Barberton City Jail. He is set to be arraigned in Barberton Municipal Court on Thursday.
Police say they are still investigating this incident.
