WOOSTER, Ohio — A Cuyahoga Falls man is behind bars in Wayne County Jail after leading troopers on a car chase at 8:30 A.M. this morning.

Roger L. Rader, 26, failed to stop for troopers performing a traffic stop for a speed violation on U.S. 30 westbound, near U.S. 250 in Wayne County. Rader continued fleeing westbound as he entered Ashland County and exited U.S. 30 near the Village of Jeromesville.

"Troopers, along with the Ashland County Sheriff's Department, made multiple attempts to deploy stop-sticks; however they were unsuccessful," the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a statement.

Rader fled through an intersection of U.S. 250 and CR 1302 where he struck another vehicle and began to escape on foot but was quickly brought down by officers. Two other people remained in the vehicle and were arrested with the help of the Ashland County Sheriff's Department.

Both the driver of the vehicle that was struck and the occupants in Rader's vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Rader is being charged with multiple felony charges including fleeing and eluding, a felony weapons charge, as well as numerous existing felony warrants.
