The incident happened on July 2 at approximately 2 p.m. at the I-480 and US 271 north split. Solon officers saw a Jeep SUV with no taillights swerving on the highway. After stopping the vehicle, officers requested officers from Warrensville Hts to the scene to investigate a suspected OVI.

Officers lost sight of the vehicle but shortly after noticed the suspect was traveling eastbound on US 422 into Solon. While attempting to catch up to the vehicle, an officer traveling in the opposite direction on US 422 noticed that the Jeep had crashed on US 422 near Harper road.

The woman, who was identified as Ishonna N. Pratcher, 26, was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. The children, a one-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, were also taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
