EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — East Cleveland police have confirmed at least three separate shootings that took place Labor Day weekend.
First incident
At least three people were shot overnight during an incident in front of Shaw High School in East Cleveland, according to police.
On Monday afternoon, East Cleveland police confirmed details of the incident through a press release. According to the release, gunfire was heard coming from the Mobil gas station located near the school at approximately 2:05 a.m.
Three shooting victims were transported to nearby hospitals by police and private transportation.
Second Incident
East Cleveland police responded to calls of shots fired in the area of Euclid Avenue and Collamer Street at approximately 1:02 a.m. When officers arrived, they found an injured man and woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both transported to a nearby hospital.
Third Incident
At approximately 2:30 a.m., East Cleveland police officers responded to calls of a man injured near the 1300 block of Elwood Road. Officers located the man shortly after arriving. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office told 3News that the victim, who was identified as 23-year-old Erin Strozier, died on Friday, Sept. 7.
