Police in Mansfield are going door-to-door looking for the suspect wanted for the stabbing of an elderly woman.
According to a Facebook post, police were called to an assault in the 900 block of Brookfield Drive at around 7:20 a.m. on Thursday morning. When police arrived, they found a woman in her 70s that had been stabbed over 30 times.
The woman told police that a man had broken into her apartment and stabbed her as she was in bed. The victim told police the suspect was in his late teens or early twenties. She also indicated that she believed there was a second person inside her apartment during the assault.
She was transported to a local hospital.
Police are searching the area and will be going door-to-door asking for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious to call the Mansfield Police at (419) 755-9748.
