ELYRIA, Ohio — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed this past weekend outside the headquarters of the Chronicle-Telegram newspaper in Elyria.
The incident occurred in the East Avenue parking lot early Saturday morning. The victim later died at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.
The Chronicle-Telegram reviewed its surveilance footage and reported the fatal altercation began around 2:20 a.m. and involved four people in three cars. The paper also identified the victim as 24-year-old Isael Eduardo Rios, of Lorain.
This was not the only shooting in the city over Labor Day weekend, as just after 10 p.m. Friday a man arrived at UH Elyria with non-life-threatening bullet wound. Authorities arrested a man named Noah Emerson in connection with that case and charged him with felonious assault.
In regards to the killing near the Chronicle-Telegram, police have not named any suspects at this time.
