ELYRIA, Ohio — Elyria Police arrested a 27-year-old man who was wanted on drug and weapons charges in Franklin County.

Patrick Anaya of Columbus was arrested at an undisclosed location in the city of Elyria on Tuesday. At the time of his arrest, which was executed by the Elyria Police Department Narcotics Unit, along with the Lorain Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Anaya is alleged to have been in possession of approximately 1.5 kilograms of fentanyl, almost 250 grams of crystal methamphetamine, over 500 fentanyl pills, and a semi-automatic carbine.
"The exceptional work by of these Detectives must be commended," Sgt. Bill Lantz of the Elyria Police Department said in a statement. "This is a significant arrest and drug seizure that certainly saved many lives in our community. I’m glad that nobody was injured and this suspect made the wise decision to surrender as we closed in on him. It wasn’t until afterwards that we began to realize how significant this arrest and seizure was. The estimated street value of this seizure was approximately $210,000.”
Anaya will be charged will the following offenses:
- Trafficking in drugs (Fentanyl) (F1)
- Trafficking in Drugs (Methamphetamine) (F1)
- Possession of Drugs (Fentanyl) (F1)
- Possession of Drugs (Methamphetamine) (F1)
- Having Weapons While Under Disability (F3)
- Carrying Concealed Weapons (F4)
Additionally, Jordyn Will, who was with Anaya at the time of his arrest, will be charged with Possession of Drugs (F3).
Following their arrests, Anaya and Will were transported to the Lorain County Jail. Will is to remain in custody until the posting of a bond or her appearance in the Elyria Municipal Court, Anaya will remain at the Lorain County Jail without a bond until his appearance in the Elyria Municipal Court.
