ELYRIA, Ohio — A teenager in Elyria has been charged with multiple robberies after being arrested for a parole violation on Wednesday.
According to the Elyria Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Harvard Ave. for a report of shots fired just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning. After speaking with multiple residents, officers learned that multiple shots were fired into a dwelling.
Officers located and arrested a 16-year-old male for a parole violation warrant issued through the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas – Juvenile Division inside the residence.
The 16-year-old was then transported to the Elyria Police Department where he was questioned by Detectives regarding several ongoing criminal investigations. He was subsequently certified to the Juvenile Courts for the following offenses:
- On Sunday, November 13th, 2022 he is alleged to have committed an armed robbery at the Convenient located at 905 E. River St., Elyria OH.
- On Sunday, December 18th, 2022 he is alleged to have committed an armed robbery at the Subway located at 907 E. River St., Elyria OH.
- On Sunday, December 18th, 2022 he is alleged to have committed a robbery in the 200 block of Harvard Ave., Elyria OH as he stole a bicycle while armed and fleeing from the Subway robbery.
He was later transported to the Lorain County Juvenile Detention facility and held in custody. The shooting is continuing to be investigated.
