'I'm just in limbo': Euclid woman's stolen Kia is found, but nightmare continues

"All I can say is if you own a Kia, trade it in."

EUCLID, Ohio — For Megan Kyea, the nightmare of having her car stolen has continued long after her vehicle was recovered.

"When I picked it up it was trashed," Kyea said.

Her Kia was stolen on November 29th from her workplace on the West Bank of the Flats. She said the vehicle was missing for 12 days, found by police, impounded and then taken to a repair shop where they were able to fix just one of her broken windows.

"All the parts are backed up, everything is on back order. All these Kias and Hyundais that have been stolen have just caused a pile up of orders," Kyea said.

She said the auto repair shop superglued her busted steering column and used cardboard and tarp as a temporary fix until parts come in, which they said could easily take months.

Her kids' carseats, toys and other items from the Kia were all stolen.

"I'm still using family's vehicles, I have kids I have to take to school, I have to get to work, so its stressful," Kyea said.

She told 3News that insurance covered 30 days for a rental and wouldn't extend the coverage as she waits for repairs.

As for where it was found or any possible suspects, she said the Cleveland Division of Police couldn't provide her with an update.

"All I can say is if you own a Kia, trade it in. If your kids are doing this, please get them to stop. They're putting themselves at risk," Kyea said.
