MANSFIELD, Ohio — Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force have arrested a man accused of shooting and killing a 16-year-old boy at a Mansfield hotel last week.
Federal officials apprehended 31-year-old Monteles Holland late Tuesday morning at an apartment in Columbus. Holland had been wanted in connection with the death of Nayshawn Lovett, whose body was found inside a staircase of the Quality Inn & Suites on Trimble Road last Tuesday after being shot multiple times.
"We are hopeful that this arrest will not only allow the victim's family some relief but also, help alleviate any additional community fears," the Mansfield Police Department said in a statement. "We ask that you respect the victim's family's privacy at this time."
Authorities have not yet said what the motive for the shooting might have been. Holland, an Ontario resident, is charged with aggravated murder and previously served two years in prison for a 2015 felonious assault in Richland County.
