According to a press release, Evans was established as the father of a child born in 2018 via genetic testing. A court previously ordered Evans to pay $6,107.95 in support per month, however Evans has not made a payment since 2022.

He was charged with the following count:

  • One Count of Non-Support of Dependents: Felony of the 5th Degree

“My child support enforcement agency works very hard to get the financial assistance local families desperately need. For nearly two years we have tried to contact Mr. Evans and his agent to get him to fulfil his obligation,” said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. “Even with his drivers’ license and passport suspended, Mr. Evans still has not paid his past due child support. My hope is that by filing these charges Mr. Evans pays his court ordered child support.”

Evans still owes over $300,000 in support payments. He has paid just under $60,000 since payments began.

Jacob Evans was a first round draft pick (28th overall) of the Golden State Warriors in the 2018 NBA Draft. Evans spent two years on Golden State's roster and a portion of a season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Evans played for Golden State's G-League affiliate during 2021 and 2022. He is not currently playing professional basketball.
