CLEVELAND — The former band director with Solon City Schools was sentenced to three and a half years in prison after pleading guilty last month on multiple counts of gross sexual imposition.
Edward Kline was sentenced Thursday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court by Judge Timothy McCormick. He will begin serving his term at the Lorain Correctional Institution in Grafton, but could eventually be moved.
The investigation into Kline's alleged conduct first became known back in July of 2020 after Solon police confirmed a former employee of the district had been accused of "inappropriate interactions" with students. The suspect was later revealed to be Kline after multiple girls came forward with their accusations in a Cleveland Jewish News article.
Kline has not been employed by Solon schools since 2018.
