BEACHWOOD, Ohio — Authorities are still searching for the suspect who ran over a police officer's foot following a shoplifting incident at Beachwood Place Mall last month.
Jaquan Jones, 19, is accused of shoplifting from the mall, sparking a shooting on June 27.
When police confronted him in the mall parking lot, they say Jones got into a gray 2014 Nissan sedan stolen from Cleveland, and ran over the foot of one of the officers, prompting the officer to fire his weapon.
Jones escaped in the stolen car before he ditched it with a gun about four miles away in South Euclid. Police also believe that Jones forced his way into a home in the area, leaving prior to the arrival of officers.
U.S. Marshals say Jones was shot at least once during the incident and may still need medical attention. He is known to frequent Cleveland's east side and Euclid.
Anyone with information on Jones' location should call 1-866-4WANTED.
