CANTON, Ohio (AP) — A three-judge panel has decided a man already sentenced to death for killing three women in suburban Cleveland will receive two more death sentences for fatally shooting an Ohio couple.
The Stark County panel announced its decision Thursday in 47-year-old George Brinkman’s case. His formal sentencing will be Friday. The Plain Township man pleaded guilty to aggravated murder in the 2017 slayings of Rogell John and Roberta John and told the judges he deserved the death penalty.

Defense attorneys argued Brinkman had a traumatic childhood and mental health problems. Prosecutors said he planned the killings as part of a theft.
The Johns were killed in Lake Township less than a day after a mother and her two daughters were killed in North Royalton. Brinkman also pleaded guilty in those slayings.
