Here's what you need to know about the Ashland, Richland county murders

Here is the latest information about the murders in Ohio.

What happened?

Two bodies were found Tuesday at an Ashland home. A third body was found at a burned-out Richland County house. According to the Mansfield News Journal, officials were led to that spot by a man who was taken into custody at the Ashland house.

How did this begin?

Authorities received a call Tuesday morning from a woman who said she had just fled an Ashland home where she was being held captive. Officials went to that scene and recovered the bodies of two women.

Has anyone been connected to this case?

Shawn Grate, 40, is being held on a abduction charge.

Richland County Prosecutor Bambi Couch Page confirmed to the Mansfield News Journal Grate said he had murdered a woman a Madison Township home in June. Couch Page added that authorities haven't identified the female remains found at that scene.

Authorities say he was homeless, but had been living in the abandoned Madison Township home.

It's unclear when Grate will appear in court.

The remains of one of the bodies found at the Ashland home were identified as Stacey Stanley, who went missing last week.
