Police find 2 bodies in house on Cleveland's west side in possible murder-suicide

The bodies were found at a home in the 3100 block of W. 112th Street on Thursday morning.

CLEVELAND -- Police are investigating after discovering the body of a 60-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman in a possible murder-suicide.

The bodies were found at a home in the 3100 block of W. 112th Street on Thursday morning. Neighbors tell WKYC that the incident involves a father and his special needs daughter.

Police were called after one of the neighbors reported a foul odor coming from the house. Officers entered through a window and found the female dead in the basement.

The man was found hung by the neck in the ceiling rafters of the basement in what appears to be a self-inflicted suicide.

The neighbor who called 911 told us mostly kept to themselves. She spoke to WKYC's Ray Strickland under the condition of anonymity.

“They were very recluse and stayed to themselves,” she said. “Barely went outside except maybe to go pay bills and grocery store."

She lives in the next door apartment of the West Side duplex, where the two were found. She says they were recently evicted and were ordered to leave by last Friday.

It remains unclear if that played a role in the incident.

Another neighbor who lives across the street says they were good people.

“They were very to themselves. Never had a problem with them or anything,” the woman said. “His daughter would come play with the cat."

It’s a tragic situation that will haunt this normally quiet neighborhood.

"I feel very sad,” she said. “It's very unfortunate that it happened.”

The case remains under investigation.
