Identity of man shot and killed Tuesday at Beachwood hotel released

The information was updated on the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's website Wednesday morning.

BEACHWOOD, Ohio — The identity of the man shot and killed in the parking lot of a Beachwood hotel Tuesday has been released.

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office website, 24-year-old Tyrone Majette died "on the ground, in the parking lot of Embassy Suites" on Park East Drive in the city of Beachwood.

"Upon arrival a male was located in the parking lot and was determined to be deceased. It was apparent that he had been shot," Beachwood police said in a press release. 

Beachwood police tell 3News that no suspect(s) is in custody and they are still investigating the incident.

911 calls obtained by 3News indicate that at least one person was shot in the parking lot of the hotel Tuesday. Initial reports say the first calls came in at 11:43 a.m. 

Calls to 911 dispatchers indicated that there were at least two suspects seen running away from the scene toward Chagrin Boulevard after the incident. One of the callers said the suspects were thin and wearing gray and black hoodies.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) is assisting the Beachwood Police Department in the investigation.
