PAINESVILLE -- Municipal Court Judge Michael Cicconetti handed down another unique sentence for a man who posed as a Salvation Army bell ringer and then stole the pot of cash.

Jeffrey Gregg will spend the next 170 days behind bars unless he completes 200 hours of community work in a food kitchen and 200 hours of community service in the Painesville Municipal Court garden.

He must also wear a "Santa" hat at all times while performing his duties. If anyone asks him why he is wearing the hat, he must truthfully answer and admit his offense.

Gregg must also pay back all of the money he stole from the Salvation Army.
