LORAIN, Ohio — Police are investigating after a man was apparently stabbed at the main branch of the Lorain Public Library on Monday afternoon.
According to a release, Lorain police officers were called to the library on West 6th Street for a report of an assault at approximately 2:05 p.m.
"Upon arrival, officers found two adult males involved in a physical altercation. One male was observed bleeding heavily from apparent stab wounds while a library security officer was restraining the other male," police noted.
The injured man was given first aid until paramedics arrived. He was taken to Mercy Health - Lorain Hospital for treatment. His condition has not yet been released.
The suspect in the incident was taken into custody by police and placed into a patrol car. Lorain police say charges are expected to be brought against him.

Meanwhile, the Lorain Public Library system says the main branch will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 19 and will reopen on Wednesday.
