LYNDHURST, Ohio — The Lyndhurst Police Department has announced that the 23-year-old man who was shot outside of his business on Sunday has died as a result of his injuries.
In a release issued on Thursday afternoon, Lyndhurst Police Chief Patrick Rhode announced that the family of Dailyn B. Ferguson notified officers of his passing. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has not provided any additional details as of yet.
Sunday's incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. outside of DF Kickz on Mayfield Road. Officers were called to the scene and found Ferguson, shot inside of a vehicle. He was taken to Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital.
Police announced that they are looking for the following vehicle that is believed to be involved in the incident: A blue 2008 Volkswagen Jetta with an Ohio license plate number HBG 7262. The car has heavily tinted windows on all sides and was reported stolen out of Warrensville Heights on May 1.
Surveillance video shows that the suspect vehicle pulled into the parking lot, opened fire on a car, and then fled the area south on Biltmore Road. There is no suspect description available, nor what type of firearm was used. Police believe that the shooting of Ferguson was 'a targeted attack.'
