WESTLAKE, Ohio — A 33-year-old Brunswick man has been charged after allegedly using his cellphone to capture footage of women inside the dressing rooms at the Nordstrom Rack at Crocker Park in Westlake.
According to Westlake Police, the incident occurred last August when it received a report regarding a man acting suspiciously inside the store located on Detroit Road. A female victim stated she had witnessed a white male with a beard using a cell phone to take pictures of videos of her under the dividing wall in the dressing room while she was trying on clothes.
The man was located by Nordstrom Rack security and Crocker Park security as he left the store. Security proceeded to obtain and relay vehicle information to Westlake Police officers
The suspect, 33-year-old Cory McKinley of Brunswick, was stopped on Crocker Rd. by the UH St. John Medical Center. McKinley initially denied being at Nordstrom Rack, but soon changed his story, indicating that he had gone into the store to use the restroom.
The man was questioned during the stop, with his cell phone seized. Analysis of the cell phone and interviews with witnesses resulted in two charges of misdemeanor voyeurism being filed this week.
Police say that the charges stem from McKinley surreptitiously filming two identified adult victims while in the changing room. He will have to appear in Rocky River Municipal Court to answer to the charges at a later date.
