AKRON, Ohio — A 43-year-old man is dead after being shot near the campus of the University of Akron Saturday morning.
Police say a resident found Brian Powers in a grassy area near East Buchtel Avenue and Chapel Drive (not far from The Chapel on Fir Hill) just before 8 a.m. Powers suffered "multiple" gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not named any suspects at this time.
