AKRON, Ohio — A man was shot and killed after an altercation turned violent outside of an Akron bar, officials say.
The incident happened on Saturday, March 30 at a business on South Arlington Street.
According to a release from the Summit county Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as 27-year-old Timothy Hyatt from Akron. An initial investigation revealed that an dispute between Hyatt and another individual took place outside of the bar which continued as both left the bar in their vehicles.
Shots were fired as they traveled southbound on Route 21 into Wayne County. At approximately 8:25 on the morning of March 30, Ohio State Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of an unresponsive victim on Route 21, later revealed to be Hyatt.
An autopsy revealed that his cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
The Akron Police Department is currently investigating the homicide. No additional details have been released at this time.
