27-year-old man shot and killed outside 28th Street Supermarket in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in Cleveland on Thursday night.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, the shooting happened at around 5:15 p.m. at 2712 Cedar Avenue. 

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. 

The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 27-year-old Dontae Malone of Cleveland.

Initial investigations show that when Malone was leaving the 28th Street Supermarket he was shot multiple times by an unknown suspect. 

At this time, the shooting remains under investigation, and no other details have been released.
