UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — A Cleveland man was hospitalized following a shooting and robbery that took place at a Speedway gas station in University Heights in the early morning hours of Thursday.

According to University Heights Police Chief Dustin Rogers, officers received a hold-up alarm from the Speedway on Cedar Road at approximately 12:36 a.m. When they arrived, police found a 28-year-old male customer had been shot in the leg and was the victim of a robbery that had taken place in the parking lot. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspects left the scene prior to police arriving. They are described as four men, possibly between the ages of 18-21 years old, wearing clothing with hoods and/or masks. The shooter was further described as approximately 6-foot tall, between 150-160 lbs, close crop hair and beard, wearing black pants, and a light-colored hooded sweatshirt.
