CLEVELAND — Mansfield police are investigating after a 25-year-old victim was killed in a shooting overnight Saturday.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at 423 Spring St. at around 1:49 a.m. and found the 25-year-old dead from "multiple gunshot wounds" upon arrival.
The Richland County Coroner's Office will be sending the victim for an autopsy, police said.
Police did not release any further details about the victim's identity.
Detectives are trying to figure out what led to the shooting and are also working to identify a suspect or suspects.
Police said details are "very limited as this is an active and fluid investigation." Police will release more details as they become available.
