EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — Police in East Cleveland are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old man on Tuesday.
According to a release from the East Cleveland Police Department, officers were called to the parking lot of Autozone on Euclid Avenue near Strathmore Avenue at around 1:35 a.m. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound.
East Cleveland police officials say a "uniform patrolman and detectives immediately began rendering aid to the victim" until EMS arrived and took him to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he later died.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as Carlos Singleton of Maple Heights.
While the investigation remains ongoing, East Cleveland police are asking for your help in finding those responsible for the death of Carlos Singleton.
"If you were in the area of Euclid Avenue and Strathmore in the City of East Cleveland and have any information relative to this incident, please contact the East Cleveland Detective Bureau at (216)-681-2162 or Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463 (216-25CRIME)," East Cleveland police stated.
If the information you provide leads to the arrest and/or conviction of the person responsible, you could be eligible for up to a $5,000 reward.
