HUDSON, Ohio — A 60-year-old woman has been charged in the crash that killed a 7-year-old Hudson boy earlier this month.
Denise Ahlstrom, of Mentor, is accused of vehicular manslaughter and failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian on a sidewalk in the incident that took the life of Vincent Baran back on the afternoon of Nov. 7. City Hall says young Vincent was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk of West Streetsboro Street when Ahlstrom's vehicle hit him as she was turning out of a private parking lot.
Both of the charges against Ahlstrom are misdemeanors, and if convicted she would face no more than 90 days in jail. In addition, her driver's license could be suspended for up to three years.
