Man convicted of transgender's murder sentenced
Andrey Bridges

CLEVELAND -- According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, Andrey Bridges, 36, of Parma, was sentenced to prison Wednesday.

Bridges was sentenced by Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Hollie Gallagher to 15 years to life on the murder, plus another 69 months on other charges of abusing corpse. Both are to be served consecutively.

On Jan. 5, Bridges allegedly stabbed 20-year-old transgender, Carl Acoff, Jr., a.k.a. Cemia Dove, multiple times, resulting in the victim's death.

On April 17, police responded to 7166 McKenzie Road in Olmsted Township for a report of a body floating in a retention pond on the property.

Dove was reported missing March 27 and her body was found half-naked and tied to a concrete block.

After further investigation, Bridges was arrested on May 6, and has been held on a $5 million bond since then.
