PARMA, Ohio — Police in Parma have arrested three teens believed to be responsible for the destruction of Halloween decorations at multiple homes over the past week.
Authorities have received reports of at least seven instances of Halloween vandalism since Saturday, with most occurring within a few blocks of each other near Ridge and Brookpark Roads. All victims told authorities their decorations were "slashed" or damaged in some way, including one family who said more than $400 worth of inflatables were ripped open.
In the aforementioned crimes that occurred on Marlborough Avenue, the home's Ring doorbell camera appeared to show three juveniles slitting the decorations and fleeing the scene, according to police. On Thursday, officers took three young males into custody, with two of them being 15 years old and the other just 13.
While the department says the suspects "are not necessarily responsible" for all seven known incidents," they are believed to be "responsible for multiple different incidents" involving the decorations. The case remains under investigation, and Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court will eventually determine if criminal charges will be filed.
