PARMA, Ohio — The Parma Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with a shooting that happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the suspect had been inside RollHouse Entertainment in the 12800 block of Brookpark Road “before he walked outside and followed an unsuspecting victim.”

In attempt to steal the victim’s gold chain, police say the suspect opened fire three times.

“Miraculously, the victim was not struck and he was able to flee on foot from the shooter,” police said while noting that three 9mm bullet casings were recovered from the scene.

In a video released Friday morning, police say the suspect can be seen drawing, raising and pointing the gun before opening fire at point-blank range. After missing the victim, video shows the suspect had briefly pursued the victim before turning around and running westbound.

Anyone with information can call the Parma Police Department non-emergency line at (440) 885-1234 or the Crime Stoppers tip hotline at (216) 252-7463. Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward up to $2,500 for information leading to the identity and prosecution of anyone involved in this crime. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
