LAKE MILTON, Ohio — Police, sheriff's deputies, and state officials have successfully located the remains of an Akron man who had been missing for nearly a year.
Twenty-seven-year-old Iron Cannon was found dead in Mahoning County's Lake Milton on Sunday. He had not been seen since October of 2020, and authorities have long believed he had been killed.
Officials have not yet given a possible manner of death for Cannon, but have claimed "foul play" occurred in an apartment on the north end of Wadsworth last Oct. 18. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner is still conducting an autopsy, but investigators are confident the remains are indeed Cannon's based on prior information obtained in the case, and the Cannon family has been notified.
Even before Cannon's body was found, seven people were arrested in May in connection with his death. They are:
- Justin D. Hornbeck, 28, of Uniontown: Murder with Firearm Specification, Tampering with Evidence, Having Weapons Under Disability, Obstructing Justice, Gross Abuse of a Corpse, Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity
- Tyrone L. Render, 27, of Wooster: Tampering with Evidence with Firearm Specification, Obstructing Justice, Having Weapons Under Disability, Gross Abuse of a Corpse, Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity
- Autumn M. Knight, 27, of Cuyahoga Falls: Tampering with Evidence, Obstructing Justice, Gross Abuse of a Corpse, Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity

The investigation into Cannon's killing remains ongoing.
