RAVENNA, Ohio — A Ravenna Township man was arrested after police found methamphetamines, meth lab contraband and multiple firearms following a traffic stop.
Michael J. Christians, 52, was pulled over by Ravenna police for having a broken windshield and only one working brake light. During the stop, a K-9 was used to check for illegal drugs in the vehicle.
The K-9 indicated to officers that there were drugs in the car, leading officers to conduct a search. During the search, officers found what was suspected to be methamphetamine and two firearms.
Ravenna police called a bomb squad to the scene after what they described as "suspicious items" were found in the car. The items were later confirmed not to be explosives.
After the search of Christians' car, a search warrant was obtained for his home in Ravenna Township. During the search of his home, more illegal contraband was found including a stolen rifle, additional drugs suspected of being methamphetamine and "numerous 'One-Pot' style meth labs."
Christians was arrested and charged with the following:
- Felony possession of drugs (3rd degree)
- Felony having weapons under disability (3rd degree)
- Felony illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine (2nd degree)
