CLEVELAND — A Cuyahoga County grand jury has indicted a 52-year-old Shaker Heights man accused of raping three women over the last three years, and prosecutors say "there may be additional victims."

According to officials, Cleveland police arrested Michael Mann on Monday, the same day grand jurors charged him with 10 felony counts in connection with the alleged assaults. Court records show authorities had originally arrested Mann earlier this year for a rape that occurred in February 2023, but he has been out of custody since this past May after posting 10% of a $100,000 bond.

Prosecutors say Mann — who also allegedly used the aliases "Rick," "Rico," "Ricardo," and "R" — would message women offering then at least $2,000 each to work as servers at private events or high-stakes poker games at a Cleveland hotel. Targeting women with online ads, he would lure them from other cities and meet them at the hotel, where investigators claim he would demand cash before sexually assaulting them.

Per the indictment, Mann is charged with raping three victims — ages 26, 31, and 35 — between May of 2021 and March of 2023. The suspect is also accused of kidnapping all three women and holding at least one of them at gunpoint, with the first counts of rape and kidnapping coming with firearm specifications. Additional charges of attempted rape and gross sexual imposition were also included.

Mann has a lengthy criminal history in Cuyahoga County that dates back to at least 1992, including a prior guilty plea that year for involuntary manslaughter that saw him serve roughly five years in prison. Other cases include plea deals involving drug, weapons, and attempted theft charges.

While these are the only three women Mann is formally charged with attacking so far, law enforcement believes there may be others from before 2021 and as recently as 2024. Those with information on more potential victims are asked to immediately call Cleveland Police Detective Richard Jackson at 216-623-5726.

"Michael Mann is a disgusting individual who preyed on innocent women who were responding to employment opportunities," Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley said in a statement Monday. "He is currently in custody and has been indicted on several counts including rape and kidnapping. We believe there may be additional victims. I urge anyone who believes they are a victim to please come forward and contact the Cleveland Division of Police at 216.623.5726."

Mann is now back at the Cuyahoga County Jail, with arraignment scheduled for Thursday.
