According to police, the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday when officers observed a gray 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup truck parked on Neptune Drive in Solon. The officers realized that the vehicle had been reported missing from Broadview Heights and observed three young men entering the vehicle.
Officers approached the truck and attempted to stop the men, but the men and the vehicle attempted to flee. One officer was able to successfully use Stop Sticks which made two of the truck's tires to deflate and caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. This happened near Brainard Road in Orange Village and the vehicle struck a tree.
Police transported the three men to nearby hospitals for their injuries.
Upon a search of the vehicle, a handgun and suspected marijuana were recovered.
Solon detectives say that charges are pending at this time.
