FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. — Members of the U.S. Marshals service have arrested a suspect accused of killing a man last October in Mansfield.
Police say Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force members teamed up with federal officials in South Carolina to capture Nathan J. Olsen in the city of Fountain Inn Tuesday evening. An arrest warrant for the 40-year-old had been issued just last Thursday.
Olsen had been wanted for the murder of 29-year-old Antonyo Powell, who was found at a home on Antibus Place on Oct. 23 and died a day later at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. According to the Mansfield News Journal, Powell had been shot multiple times.
"This arrest is a direct result of excellent work by the entire Major Crimes Section of the Mansfield Police Department and the relationship with the Division of Police and the NOVFTF," authorities said in a statement following Olsen's arrest.
Officials have not specified when Olsen will be extradited back to Ohio. He currently faces a charge of aggravated murder, and court records show he previously served more than a year in prison for unlawful sexual contact with a minor in 2006.
Anyone with further information on this case is asked to immediately call Mansfield Police Det. Richard Clapp at (419) 755-9470.
