Suspect arrested after multiple Lorain County armed robberies

Phillip Boschetti was responsible for seven armed robberies in Lorain County since May 21.

Authorities in Lorain County have arrested a suspect responsible for a string of armed robberies that have taken place over the last 9 days.

The SWAT unit from the Lorain County Sheriff's Office executed an arrest warrant Wednesday for 24-year-old Phillip Boschetti Jr. of Elyria Township. He was arrested without incident despite having access to several weapons.

During questioning by detectives from the Elyria Police Department and the Lorain County Sheriff's Office, Boschetti admitted his involvement in several armed robberies in Lorain, Elyria, and surrounding counties:

  • A May 21st robbery of S&B Gas in Lorain
  • A May 27th robbery at Convenient Food Mart in North Ridge Road
  • A May 28th robbery of the Speedway on Griswold Rd. in Elyria
  • A May 28th robbery of the BP on E. Bridge St. in Elyria
  • A May 29th robbery at Circle K on Oberlin Elyria Rd.
  • A May 30th robbery at Denny's in Elyria.

Officials note that Boschetti was arrested by Elyria Police in 2014 for two armed robberies and served time in prison.

Two other suspects, 29-year-old Alan Wharton and 27-year-old Amber Blackburn, have also been charged in connection with the robberies.
