BEDFORD, Ohio — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy in Bedford last month.
The Bedford Police Department announced new details in the case Friday morning, saying the suspect – identified as David Harden III – was captured in Martinez, Georgia, on Thursday.
Authorities said the extradition process is currently underway.
The shooting dates back to Sunday, Jan. 29 when two teen boys – ages 13 and 15 – were shot in the area of Corkhill Road and Lee Road South. Both were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, but the 13-year-old victim – identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner as Hysheen Thomas – later died.
Additional details about the 15-year-old boy's injuries were not released.

Brian Shimko, a man who lives in the area, spoke with 3News after the shooting.
"I've never heard a story about someone being shot around here. I'm originally from Maple Heights, but you never really heard of stuff like that going on in Bedford," Shimko said at the time.
