A suspect was arrested for theft at Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay Memorial Day weekend.
Eric Flack, the father of a 12-year-old boy participating in a nearby baseball tournament took to Twitter Monday morning expressing his frustration regarding the theft.
“@cedarpoint housekeeping staff steals hundreds of dollars from rooms @CastawayBayCP and the $2bil biz won’t pay back victims, all members of a 12U Baseball Trip., My 12 year old son is one of them. This is a pic of his empty wallet which he hid in a drawer! 😡 Disgusting,” the tweet read.
Mr. Flack told WKYC that he was aware of three thefts that occurred during their 2-day stay at the Sandusky resort. He says two of the incidents were reported to the Cedar Point Police Department.
Cedar Point Police conducted an internal investigation regarding the incident.
Cedar Point confirmed a suspect was arrested, and that Mr. Flack’s property will be returned. However, it would not confirm if anyone else had property stolen or if the suspect was an employee.
Cedar Point's spokesperson did not offer any additional information "as we do not comment on the details of these investigations."
