Suspects in murder of Bedford father & daughter both held on more than $5 million bond

Police say both were involved in the torture and murder of Paul Bradley and his 14-year-old daughter Paris.

The two suspects charged in the deaths of a Bedford father and daughter last month both appeared in court Thursday.

Ronald Newberry and Kodii Gibson were each in East Cleveland Municipal Court at 11 a.m. on aggravated murder charges. Police say both Newberry and Gibson were involved in the torture and killing of Paul Bradley and his 14-year-old daughter Paris, whose bodies were found burned inside a car in East Cleveland back on Oct. 10. Paris, a freshman at Bedford High School, was shot to death, while authorities believe Paul was burned alive.

Newberry, who is charged with aggravated murder, turned himself in on Nov. 8, and officials say he "may have done this before." Gibson was arrested two days later.

A judge ordered both defendants held on exactly $5,321,770 each, with police saying the number is "significant" to Paul Bradley. While Newberry was mostly expressionless as he faces the judge, Gibson was emotional, often crying and twitching throughout the proceedings. Gibson "maintains his innocence," according to counsel.

While an exact motive for the murders is still unclear, police believe it involved some sort of robbery. They also continue to search for others who may have been involved.
