CLEVELAND — Three people wanted for separate crimes in Northeast Ohio have just been captured -- including a man who's allegedly been on the run for more than five years.
“These three senseless acts of violence have left members of our community without their family,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. “Hopefully the healing process starts for all these families knowing these suspects are now behind bars.”
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force explains each arrest as follows…
CHRISTOPHER JOHNSON: Captured in Parkersburg, West Virginia
Johnson, 30, who has been wanted in the September 2017 shooting death of Brandon Belleville in Summit County, was arrested early Thursday morning in West Virginia.
Authorities say Johnson was allegedly among three accomplices who broke into the victim’s home in the 600 block of Minerva Place where the deadly shooting took place more than five years ago.
Acting on new information, the task force traveled to Parkersburg and located Johnson at an apartment building in the 1900 block of 27th Street. A firearm was also recovered during his arrest, according to authorities.
Johnson will be extradited back to Summit County.
The three accomplices – identified as Quincy Chatman, Harold Burros and Lamarr Jackson – were all previously arrested and convicted in the case.
CHRISTIAN WEST: Captured in Garfield Heights
West, 27, was wanted by Garfield Heights police for the April 15 shooting death of Devonte Brown, which happened outside of a Dollar General store on Turney Road.
“West and an accomplice, who has already been taken into custody, shot the victim and then stole his vehicle,” authorities said in a press release. “Today, members of the task force were able to locate West and take him into custody without incident.”
He was found at a home in the 4600 block of Donovan Drive in Garfield Heights, which authorities say is only a mile away from where the murder happened.
SHANIQUA MENEFEE: Captured in Cleveland
Menefee, 34, was wanted by Cleveland police for allegedly running over a man with her vehicle early Sunday morning in the area of East 155th Street and Glendale Avenue.
“When police and EMS responded, the male victim was still pinned under the car,” authorities said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was arrested Thursday without incident at an apartment in the 7000 block of Broadway Avenue in Cleveland.
