Tallmadge man arrested after allegedly setting bedroom on fire, barricading himself in house

TALLMADGE, Ohio — Tallmadge Police arrested 33-year-old Aaron Cook on Tuesday night, following a standoff with the Summit County Sheriff's SWAT team, according to a press release.

Officers were called to Cook's house around 7:30 p.m. after complaints from neighbors. When officers arrived, Cook allegedly locked himself in the house and broke all the windows. Officers then called the county SWAT team and the local fire company because they smelled gas.

SWAT then had to enter the house when Cook allegedly set an upstairs bedroom on fire. 

He's being charged with aggravated arson and is being held in the Summit County Jail.
