LORAIN, Ohio — A 16-year-old boy has died following a late-night shooting in the 2300 block of Apple Avenue.
Authorities say Lorain police officers responded to the scene around 11:05 p.m. and “immediately began providing first-aid to the 16-year-old juvenile victim.”
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. The suspect, who police say is 17 years old, was taken into custody a short time later.
The incident remains under investigation. Anybody with additional information is asked to call the Lorain Police Detective Bureau at 440-204-2105 and speak with Detective Sergeant Tabitha Angello.
No additional details were immediately available.
Lorain police say they’re also investigating a separate incident after shots were fired in a bar, which happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the Off Shore Pub and Grub in the 1400 block of Colorado Avenue.
Officers say they learned two gunshot victims had arrived at the hospital – one who was treated and released, the other listed in stable condition.
Anybody with information regarding the bar shooting is also asked to call 440-204-2105 and speak with Detective Sergeant Angello or Detective Mike Shamblin.
