LORAIN, Ohio — A 17-year-old girl is dead following a late-night shooting in Lorain.
Police say they were responding to reports of shots fired near West 25th Street and Kelly Place when a 19-year-old man called 911 around 11:15 p.m. Thursday to alert authorities that his friend had been shot.
Officers located the man, who was driving a Jeep, in the 800 block of West 21st Street. The Jeep pulled to the side of the road and officers say they found the victim dead in the front passenger seat.
Police say several persons of interest are being interviewed.
The victim’s name is being withheld until her family can be notified.
