CLEVELAND — A 19-year-old woman is dead and one suspect is in custody following a shooting at a Cleveland nightclub early Sunday morning.
Witnesses told police a fight broke out inside the Legacy Entertainment Complex on Union Avenue around 1 a.m. and security ordered everyone to leave the establishment. One suspect was apparently shot in the leg while running away from the club and fired back toward the crowd, striking the teen victim in the head and torso on the 3500 block of East 103rd Street.
Officers treated the woman at the scene and EMS crews took her to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where she died from her injuries. She has been identified as Catera L. Fowler.
The suspect was taken to the same hospital via private means, but authorities figured out his location and arrested him there. He has been identified as 26-year-old Eric White Jr.
This incident remains under investigation.
