AKRON, Ohio — Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested a man who was wanted for the rape of a juvenile on Tuesday morning.
Sher Bahadur Bhujel, 28, was wanted by Akron police for the rape of a victim under the age of 15, according to a release from the U.S. Marshals.
A warrant for Bhujel's arrest was issued on Monday, after which officers from the Akron Police Department and NOVFTF members began searching for his whereabouts.
Bhujel was found at a residence in the 1300 block of Alphada Avenue in Akron. When officers saw Bhujel leave the residence and enter a car, they quickly surrounded the vehicle and arrested Bhujel without incident.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The Akron Police Department and members of our task force acted quickly to make an arrest in this case, less than 24 hours after the warrant was issued. Cases like these, where the victim is a child, the task force works relentlessly until the fugitive is apprehended.”
